AEROFEDERATION
TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between the user (“User,” “Participant,” “Member,” “Institutional Representative,” or “You”) and AERO FEDERATION OF INDIA (AEROFEDERATION) (“AEROFEDERATION,” “Federation,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms govern all forms of interaction with AEROFEDERATION, including but not limited to digital platforms, physical events, memberships, research programs, certifications, publications, innovation initiatives, policy engagements, and collaborations (collectively referred to as the “Services”). By accessing, registering for, or participating in any Service, you explicitly acknowledge, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, Honor Code & Research Ethics Charter, and any Program-Specific Guidelines issued from time to time.

1. DEFINITIONS & INTERPRETATION

To ensure clarity and transparency, the following definitions apply throughout this document:

  • “AEROFEDERATION” refers to AERO FEDERATION OF INDIA, a non-profit, research-driven organization operating in aerospace, space, defence, STEM, and emerging technologies.

  • “Services” include all educational, research, innovation, outreach, membership, certification, digital, and collaborative offerings provided directly or indirectly by AEROFEDERATION.

  • “User” means any individual or entity accessing or using the Services.

  • “Member” refers to any registered individual or institution holding a valid membership category under AEROFEDERATION.

  • “User Content” means any material submitted by a User, including research papers, designs, media, data, feedback, or communications.

  • “Applicable Law” includes Indian laws, international treaties, export-control regulations, and jurisdiction-specific legal requirements.

Headings are for convenience only and shall not affect interpretation.

2. INSTITUTIONAL MANDATE, GLOBAL ROLE & PUBLIC INTEREST

2.1 Institutional Mandate

AEROFEDERATION exists to serve the public interest by advancing:

  • Scientific knowledge

  • Indigenous research & innovation

  • Skill development and workforce readiness

  • Ethical technology deployment

It operates without intent of private profit, reinvesting all resources into education, research, innovation, and societal development.

2.2 Global & National Positioning

AEROFEDERATION functions as:

  • A knowledge enabler

  • A research facilitator

  • A policy-aware innovation ecosystem partner

while respecting national sovereignty, international cooperation, and scientific diplomacy.

3. ALIGNMENT WITH UN SDGs 

AEROFEDERATION formally aligns with the United Nations 2030 Agenda, ensuring its programs contribute measurably to:

SDG 4 – Quality Education

  • Open, inclusive, and research-driven learning

  • Emphasis on aerospace, space science, defence, AI, and STEM

  • Reduction of skill gaps between academia and industry

SDG 5 – Gender Equality

  • Equal participation irrespective of gender

  • Climate-aware research and engineering practices

SDG 16 & 17

  • Ethical governance, transparency, accountability

  • Multi-stakeholder partnerships across nations

Users acknowledge that participation implies respect for these values.

4. ALIGNMENT WITH GOVERNMENT OF INDIA POLICIES 

AEROFEDERATION respects and supports, where applicable:

  • National Education Policy (NEP) 2020

    • Multidisciplinary learning

    • Research orientation

    • Innovation-centric education

  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

    • Lawful, fair, and transparent data processing

  • Indian Space Policy, 2023

    • Private participation in space innovation

  • Drone Rules, 2021

    • Responsible unmanned systems research

  • Atmanirbhar Bharat & Make in India

    • Indigenous design, manufacturing, and IP creation

Nothing herein overrides statutory authority or government directives.

5. ELIGIBILITY, SANCTIONS & LEGAL CAPACITY

5.1 Individual Eligibility

You may use Services only if:

  • You are 13 years or older

  • You are legally competent to contract

  • You are not restricted under sanctions, embargoes, or export-control laws

5.2 Institutional & International Users

Institutions must:

  • Ensure authorized representation

  • Comply with cross-border data, defence, and technology transfer laws

 

6. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION, VERIFICATION & RESPONSIBILITY

6.1 Registration

Users may be required to provide:

  • Verified identity details

  • Academic or professional credentials

  • Institutional affiliation where applicable

6.2 Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for:

  • Accuracy of information

  • Safeguarding credentials

  • Activities conducted under their account

AEROFEDERATION assumes no liability for misuse arising from user negligence.

7. SERVICES, PROGRAM STRUCTURE & PARTICIPATION

Services may include:

  • Conferences, workshops, summits

  • Research journals and publications

  • Certifications, fellowships, memberships

  • Hackathons, innovation challenges

  • Policy dialogues and outreach

Each program may have supplementary rules, which form part of these Terms.

8. FEES, DONATIONS & FINANCIAL GOVERNANCE

8.1 Fees

  • Clearly disclosed prior to payment

  • Used exclusively for organizational objectives

8.2 Donations & Grants

  • Voluntary and non-refundable

  • Utilized for SDG-aligned programs

8.3 No Guarantee Clause

Participation does not guarantee:

  • Employment

  • Government certification

  • Regulatory approval

 

9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & KNOWLEDGE GOVERNANCE

9.1 Federation IP

Includes:

  • Logos, branding

  • Curricula, frameworks

  • Research methodologies

9.2 User License

Users receive a limited, revocable, non-commercial license.

9.3 Strategic & Defence Sensitivity

Users must comply with:

  • Export control

  • National security

  • Responsible disclosure norms

 

10. USER CONTENT, RESEARCH OUTPUTS & OPEN SCIENCE

10.1 Submissions

User Content may include:

  • Research papers

  • Designs and datasets

  • Media and documentation

10.2 License Grant

Users grant AEROFEDERATION a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license for:

  • Education

  • Research dissemination

  • Policy and awareness

10.3 User Responsibility

Users confirm lawful ownership and ethical compliance.

 

11. HONOR CODE, ETHICS & RESPONSIBLE INNOVATION

Users must uphold:

  • Academic honesty

  • Research integrity

  • Responsible AI & technology use

  • Environmental stewardship

  • Inclusion and dignity

Violations may result in permanent exclusion.

 

12. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES 

Users shall not:

  • Engage in illegal or extremist activities

  • Misrepresent identity or credentials

  • Violate IP or confidentiality

  • Circumvent security controls

  • Misuse platforms for political propaganda

  • Breach defence or export regulations

 

13. DATA PROTECTION, PRIVACY & CYBERSECURITY

Data is processed in accordance with:

  • DPDP Act, 2023

  • IT Act, 2000

  • GDPR and global best practices

Safeguards include administrative, technical, and organizational controls.

 

14. DISCLAIMERS & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

14.1 Disclaimer

Services are provided “AS IS”, without warranties of:

  • Accuracy

  • Continuity

  • Fitness for a specific purpose

14.2 Liability Limitation

Liability, if any, is capped at fees paid in the previous 12 months.

 

15. TERMINATION, ENFORCEMENT & REMEDIES

AEROFEDERATION may:

  • Suspend or terminate access

  • Remove violating content

  • Initiate legal remedies

All rights and licenses terminate upon termination.

 

16. MODIFICATIONS & CONTINUITY

  • Terms may be updated periodically

  • Continued use signifies acceptance

 

17. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

  • Governed by laws of India

  • Jurisdiction lies with competent courts in India
